To encourage the real estate sector, provide employment and economic growth, the state government made amendments to the Building Rules 2012

Municipal administration and urban development department on Tuesday issued orders making 21 amendments to the Building Rules 2012.

Ease of doing business is important for any enterprise, but critical for startups. With limited resources, they cannot afford to spend too much time, money and effort in navigating a complex environment, populated by archaic laws and a labyrinth of registrations, permits and approvals.

In the past year, India has already jumped up 12 places on the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Index. 

A roadmap for reduction of the corporate tax rate and elimination of exemptions, early implementation of GST and ease of doing business were some of the key demands put forward by India Inc at the meeting.
 

In Budget 2015-16, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had proposed reducing the corporate tax rate to 25 per cent from 30 per cent over a four-year period, along with a phase out of exemptions to India Inc.

The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015 was passed by the Parliament in the recently concluded Winter Session of the Parliament.

The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Act, 2015 provides for retrospective validation for the new scheme of determining the jurisdiction of a court to try a case under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Act, 2015 also mandates centralisation of cases against the same drawer.

In what could be considered yet another victory for the foreign investors (FPIs), a Mumbai Dispute Resolution Panel (DRP) has said that Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) cannot be levied on the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs).

Hailed as "the bright spot" in a gloomier  global  economy, India outpaced China  as the world's fastest growing economy in 2015 and is expected to clock 7-7.5 per cent growth in the New Year provided the reform momentum continues and the business environment improves.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley says that subdued global economy and moderate private sector investment will continue to pose challenges, while his top priorities for the New Year include rolling out the long-delayed GST, rationalising direct taxes, ensuring further ease of doing business

Government today approved an Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (A-TUFS) in place of the existing Revised Restructured TUFS for technology upgradation of the textiles industry, a move expected to attract investment of Rs 1 lakh crore and create over 30 lakh jobs by 2022.

It will create 30 lakh jobs and attract Rs 1 lakh crore investment into the sector by 2022.
