The data in this report are current as of June 1, 2016 (except for the paying taxes indicators, which cover the period January–December 2015).

The Standing Committee on Commerce presented this report to Rajya Sabha on 21st December 2015. In this One Hundred Twenty Sceond report, committee examine the various issues related to Ease of Doing Business in India and also presented its recommendations to Government.

This document is an implementation guide to facilitate Indian states in implementing ease of doing business reforms as suggested by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion in October 2015. This guide is divided into 10 sections, each focusing on the 10 areas of the Business Reform Action plan.

This document has been issued by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion to Indian states and union territories. It contains a list of recommendations in various areas to enable states to improve the ease of doing business in their respective jurisdictions. 

This document is in the form of suggestions made by various Indian states and other industry stakeholders to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion regarding ease of doing business and the government’s reply on the same.

This report has been prepared by the World Bank in association with the government of India. It analyzes the various reforms undertaken by Indian states in the period January-July 2015 and ranks them accordingly. It also lists and explains the best practices on various ease of doing business parameters being followed across Indian states. 

This document lists the various measures that have been taken by the central government to improve the ease of doing business in the country. The emphasis is on simplification and rationalization of existing rules as well as use of information technology to make governance more effective.

This report analyzes regulatory quality and efficiency in doing business in 189 economies of the world. Performance of various countries is analyzed on several parameters such as setting up a business, closing a business, enforcement of contracts, compliance with labour laws and tax procedures, etc. India has been placed at rank 130, an improvement from last year’s rank 134.
